Today is the last day of the month so it is that time again to do a review of our Dividend Stocks portfolio. If you are just new to this challenge we did already a review on January 2025 – Dividend Stocks Performance and also in our other growth stocks challenge, where we also reviewed Jan-25 Growth Stocks Performance.
This month, we’ve added three new stocks to our portfolio: Best Buy Co., Inc. (BBY), British American Tobacco p.l.c. (BATS), and Ennis, Inc. (EBF). We’ll analyse their performance alongside our existing holdings to provide a comprehensive overview.

Overall Portfolio Performance
The total amount invested in the challenge so far is £90. As of February 28, 2025, the portfolio’s total value is approximately £94.30, reflecting an overall gain of 4.77%, which differs massively from the performance obtained in our growth stocks portfolio. This is because of the ‘panic’ in the market since Trump took presidency and started to impose tariffs. That started the rotation of stocks that normally happens when the market is insecure. Investors tend to go to ‘safer’ stocks such as dividends stocks that normally are well known businesses with good track of profitability.
Dividend Payments
Dividend income is also beginning to accumulate, with the portfolio generating £0.74 in dividends for February 2025. This represents a monthly yield of approximately 0.0082% on cost, equivalent to an annualized yield of around 4.92%. As more stocks are added, this passive income stream will continue to grow. If you are unaware, there is specific date to buy a stock to get the dividend.
Conclusion
February has been another strong month for our dividend investment challenge, with most holdings showing positive returns. While a few stocks have had minor dips, the portfolio remains on a solid upward trajectory. Investing is a long-term journey, and consistency is key. We’ll continue to track our progress and update our readers on the performance of our £10/week Dividend Stocks Challenge. Stay tuned for our next purchase that will be announced today in our main dividend stocks portfolio page and also for our next month’s review!
